Pudding:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon apricot jam
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
Chocolate Sauce:
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare batter: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease baking dish. Sift flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat egg and sugar, add jam, vanilla, vinegar, and milk. Stir in melted butter. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
- Bake the pudding: Pour batter into dish. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Make the chocolate sauce: In a saucepan, combine cream, butter, sugar, cocoa, and vanilla. Heat until smooth.
- Finish and serve: Pour warm sauce over baked pudding. Let soak for 10 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For added richness, mix in chocolate chips before baking.
- Best enjoyed warm; reheat with a splash of cream if needed.
