  • Ingredients listed on the cake mix box (eggs, oil, water)

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • Nonstick spray or butter for greasing pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the Cake: Prepare the strawberry cake mix as per package instructions. Pour batter into the greased pan.
  3. Prepare Cream Cheese Layer: In a bowl, beat cream cheese, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Layer the Cake: Spoon cream cheese mixture over the cake batter. Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top and press sliced strawberries into the batter.
  5. Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes until edges are golden and center is mostly set.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let cool for 15–20 minutes before serving. Enjoy the earthquake effect created by the cream cheese layer.

Notes

  • Enhance flavor with freeze-dried strawberries in the batter or a white chocolate drizzle.
  • Try raspberries instead of strawberries for a variation.
