For the sauce:
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
For the stir-fry:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
- Cook the shrimp: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet, add shrimp, and cook until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Stir-fry: Add remaining oil to the skillet, sauté garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Add broccoli and stir-fry. Return shrimp to the pan. Pour sauce over shrimp and broccoli, cook until sauce thickens.
- Finish and serve: Drizzle with sesame oil, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken or tofu for shrimp.
- For extra crunch, add bell peppers or snow peas.
- To make it gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
