Description

This Raspberry Fudge Brownie Trifle is a decadent and layered dessert featuring rich homemade or boxed brownies, a smooth chocolate fudge sauce, fresh raspberries, and fluffy whipped cream. Perfect for parties and gatherings, the trifle combines fudgy chocolate, tart berries, and creamy sweetness into every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Layer

  • 1 box brownie mix (or your favorite homemade brownie recipe)
  • Eggs, oil, and water (according to brownie mix instructions)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)

Fudge Layer

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Raspberry Layer

  • 1 ½ cups fresh raspberries (plus extra for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional, for sweetening the raspberries)

Whipped Cream Layer

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownies: Preheat your oven following the brownie mix directions. Prepare the brownie batter according to the box or your recipe, folding in chocolate chips if using. Bake as instructed, then allow the brownies to cool completely.
  2. Make the Fudge Layer: In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the heavy cream just to a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and butter until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Allow the fudge to cool to room temperature.
  3. Prepare the Raspberry Layer: Gently toss the fresh raspberries with powdered sugar if desired. Set aside to macerate slightly.
  4. Whip the Cream: Using a mixer, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Take care not to overwhip.
  5. Assemble the Trifle: Cut the cooled brownies into bite-sized cubes. In a trifle dish or serving cups, layer brownies, fudge sauce, raspberries, and whipped cream. Repeat layers ending with whipped cream on top.
  6. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 2 hours or overnight to let flavors meld. Before serving, garnish with extra raspberries and chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • You can use homemade brownies or any boxed brownie mix according to preference.
  • Chocolate chips in the brownie batter are optional but add extra fudginess.
  • The fudge sauce must cool before layering to avoid melting the whipped cream.
  • Powdered sugar in the raspberry layer is optional depending on the tartness of your berries.
  • For best results, assemble and chill the trifle several hours ahead to develop flavors.
  • Chocolate shavings or curls make a beautiful garnish.
