Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 package (14.3 oz) regular Oreos, crushed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (optional)
Coating
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- Crush the Oreos: Begin by finely crushing the Oreos. Use a food processor or place Oreos in a sealed Ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin until you achieve a fine crumb consistency without large chunks.
- Mix the filling: In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos, softened cream cheese, pumpkin puree, and if desired, pumpkin pie spice. Stir with a spoon or spatula until the mixture becomes smooth, well combined, thick, and moldable.
- Form the balls: Scoop small portions of the mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls using your hands or a spoon. Place the balls on a parchment or wax paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let them firm up.
- Melt the white chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Dip and coat: Dip each chilled ball into the melted white chocolate using a fork or dipping tool. Make sure the ball is fully coated, then let any excess drip off before placing it back on the lined baking sheet. Optionally, decorate with orange sprinkles, chocolate drizzle, or pumpkin pie spice for a festive look.
- Set the coating: Refrigerate the coated balls for another 30 minutes to allow the white chocolate to harden and set. Once firm, the Pumpkin Oreo Balls are ready to enjoy.
Notes
- For best results, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing to avoid lumps.
- Customize the coating by using semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips instead of white chocolate if preferred.
- Store leftover Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- These treats can be frozen for up to one month; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
- Optionally, add a pinch of salt to the white chocolate coating to balance the sweetness.
