Description

Indulge in the creamy, savory goodness of Maryland Crab Dip. This hot and cheesy dip is a crowd-pleaser, perfect for parties or cozy gatherings. Packed with lump crab meat and a blend of cheeses, it’s a decadent treat that will have everyone coming back for more.

Ingredients

Scale

Cream Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, plus extra for topping
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Add cheeses and crab meat: Stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, then gently fold in the crab meat, being careful not to break it up too much.
  4. Bake the dip: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and smooth the top. Sprinkle with extra Old Bay seasoning. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh veggies.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a mix of lump and claw meat.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave.
