Description

This refreshing Kool-Aid Slushie recipe is a quick and easy way to enjoy a cool, fruity treat perfect for hot days. Using your favorite Kool-Aid flavor combined with ice and optional lemon-lime soda for fizz, this slushie is a vibrant and fun beverage for the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Slushie Mixture

  • 1 packet of Kool-Aid (any flavor you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to your sweetness preference)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Optional

  • 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda (for extra fizz and flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Kool-Aid: In a pitcher, mix the Kool-Aid packet with sugar and 2 cups of cold water. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Make the Slushie: Pour the Kool-Aid mixture into a blender, add the ice cubes, and blend until the mixture becomes smooth and slushy. Adjust texture by adding more ice for thickness or a bit more water for a thinner consistency.
  3. Optional Fizz: For a fizzy version, add the lemon-lime soda to the blender and pulse a couple of times to gently combine without losing carbonation.
  4. Serve: Pour the slushie into glasses immediately. Serve with a straw, and optionally garnish with extra ice or fresh fruit for a delightful presentation.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar to taste based on the sweetness of your Kool-Aid packet and personal preference.
  • For a sugar-free version, use a sugar substitute compatible with freezing and blending.
  • If you don’t have a blender, you can crush the ice separately and mix with Kool-Aid for a similar texture.
  • Adding lemon-lime soda is optional but adds a pleasant fizz and light citrus note.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the optimal slushie texture before melting occurs.
