Description

These irresistibly cheesy pizza cups are bite-sized delights perfect for parties, snacks, or quick meals. Made with a crispy pizza dough base, filled with savory pepperoni, fresh green peppers, mozzarella cheese, and Italian herbs, these pizza cups bake to golden perfection in under 30 minutes. They’re easy to prepare and customizable with your favorite toppings!

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Dough

  • 1 package Pizza Dough (store-bought or homemade)

Filling

  • 1 cup Pepperoni (can substitute with cooked sausage or mushrooms)
  • 1 cup Green Peppers (red or yellow peppers also work)
  • 1 cup Cheese (e.g., Mozzarella; try cheddar or vegan cheese for variety)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Herbs (e.g., oregano, basil; fresh or dried herbs)

Additional

  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil (or butter as a substitute)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the pizza cups.
  2. Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about ¼ inch thick. Cut out circles using a round cutter or glass slightly larger than the muffin tin holes.
  3. Mold Dough Cups: Press each dough circle into the muffin tin wells, carefully molding the dough into a cup shape that will hold the filling.
  4. Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the pepperoni slices, chopped green peppers, shredded cheese, and Italian herbs. Mix well to evenly distribute ingredients.
  5. Fill Dough Cups: Spoon the filling mixture evenly into each dough cup, making sure to leave a bit of space at the top so the cheese can bubble and the dough cooks through.
  6. Brush with Olive Oil: Lightly brush the edges of each filled dough cup with olive oil to promote extra crispiness during baking.
  7. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the pizza cups from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before carefully removing from the tin. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute pepperoni with cooked sausage, mushrooms, or your favorite pizza toppings.
  • To make it vegan, use vegan cheese and plant-based dough if available.
  • If using store-bought dough, follow package instructions for handling and resting if necessary before rolling.
  • Brush dough edges with butter instead of olive oil for a richer flavor.
  • Feel free to add a small spoonful of pizza sauce to the filling for added moisture and flavor.
