Ingredients
Scale
Fries
- 4 cups French Fries (Thick-cut or steak fries preferred)
Steak and Vegetables
- 1 lb Ribeye Steak (Juicy and tender)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (For searing the steak and sautéing vegetables)
- 1 cup Bell Peppers (Mixed colors preferred, sliced)
- 1 medium Yellow Onion (Sliced)
Cheese
- 1 cup Provolone Cheese (Or mozzarella/pepper jack as alternatives, sliced)
- 1/2 cup Cheese Sauce (Optional for added richness)
Seasoning and Garnish
- Salt (To taste)
- Pepper (To taste)
- 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (Optional for garnish, chopped)
Instructions
- Prepare the Fries: Bake the thick-cut French fries at 425°F for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy, or alternatively, fry for 5–7 minutes until crisp. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced bell peppers and onions, sautéing for 7–8 minutes until they soften and develop a slight caramelization.
- Sear the Steak: Increase the skillet heat to high. Add the ribeye steak and sear it for 2–3 minutes, turning to cook evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the steak and slice thinly once rested slightly.
- Assemble the Dish: On a baking sheet or oven-safe dish, layer the crispy fries first, then top with sliced ribeye, followed by the sautéed vegetables. Distribute the provolone cheese slices evenly over the top. Drizzle cheese sauce if using for extra creaminess.
- Melt the Cheese: Place the assembled dish under a broiler or bake in the oven at 400°F for 2–3 minutes until the provolone cheese melts beautifully and starts to bubble.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately while hot and gooey.
Notes
- Use thick-cut or steak fries for the best texture to hold toppings.
- Substitute provolone cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack according to preference.
- Cheese sauce is optional but adds extra richness to this indulgent dish.
- Rest the steak briefly after searing for easier slicing and juicier bites.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the cheese melted perfectly over crispy fries.
