Description

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

For the glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla, followed by the mashed bananas.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  4. Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
  5. Cool and glaze: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. To make the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cookies and let the glaze set before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or mini chocolate chips to the dough.
