Description

Easter Bunny Spinach Dip is a festive and fun appetizer perfect for holiday gatherings. This creamy, flavorful spinach dip is made with sour cream, mayonnaise, vegetable soup mix, water chestnuts, and green onions, all served elegantly in a hollowed-out bread bowl shaped like a bunny. Decorated with olives, baby carrots, and fresh spinach leaves, it makes a delightful centerpiece for any party.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 container (16 oz) sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 package (1 oz) dry vegetable soup mix
  • 1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 3 green onions, finely sliced

Bunny and Serving Ingredients

  • 1 large round bread loaf (such as sourdough)
  • 2 small bread rolls (for bunny feet and tail)
  • 2 black olives (for eyes)
  • 1 baby carrot (for nose)
  • 2 fresh spinach leaves (for ears)
  • Assorted crackers and fresh vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dip: In a large bowl, combine the thawed and drained spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, vegetable soup mix, chopped water chestnuts, and finely sliced green onions. Mix until well combined to ensure flavors are evenly distributed.
  2. Chill the Dip: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
  3. Create the Bunny Bread Bowl: While the dip chills, cut a shallow bowl shape into the center of the large round bread loaf. Carefully hollow out enough of the inside bread to make room for the dip without breaking the crust.
  4. Form Bunny Features: Use the removed bread pieces and the two small bread rolls to form the bunny’s feet and tail, placing them appropriately around the loaf. Add black olives for the eyes, a baby carrot for the nose, and fresh spinach leaves for the ears to complete the bunny face and shape.
  5. Assemble and Serve: Once the dip is chilled, spoon it into the hollowed-out bread bowl. Arrange assorted crackers and fresh vegetables around the bunny for dipping. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Feel free to customize the bunny’s face with other vegetables or herbs for a unique touch.
  • This dip is best served cold, so keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
