Description

These Cheesy Beef Wraps are a delicious and hearty meal featuring seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and fresh toppings all wrapped in warm flour tortillas. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, they combine bold spices with fresh diced tomatoes and cilantro, finished with a crispy skillet-toasted wrap and served with creamy sour cream for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wrap Assembly

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Sour cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat skillet. Heat a skillet over medium heat on the stove to prepare for cooking the ground beef.
  2. Cook ground beef. Add the ground beef to the hot skillet, breaking it up with a spatula and cooking until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Season beef. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper over the cooked beef. Stir thoroughly to combine the seasoning evenly.
  4. Remove from heat. Once fully cooked and seasoned, take the skillet off the heat.
  5. Prepare tortilla base. Lay one flour tortilla flat on a clean surface to assemble your wrap.
  6. Add cheese. Evenly sprinkle one-quarter of the shredded cheddar cheese over the tortilla as the first layer.
  7. Add beef. Spoon one-quarter of the seasoned ground beef on top of the cheese layer.
  8. Add fresh toppings. Top the beef with a portion of diced tomatoes and chopped cilantro to add freshness and color.
  9. Roll wrap. Roll the tortilla tightly from one side to form a secure wrap enclosing all fillings inside.
  10. Repeat assembly. Repeat steps 5 through 9 with the remaining tortillas and fillings, making four wraps total.
  11. Toast wraps. Return the skillet to medium heat and place each wrap seam side down in the skillet.
  12. Cook until golden. Cook the wraps for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortillas are crispy and golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
  13. Remove and rest. Transfer the toasted wraps to a cutting board.
  14. Slice wraps. Using a sharp knife, cut each wrap diagonally in half for easier handling and presentation.
  15. Serve. Plate the cheesy beef wraps and serve with a side of sour cream for dipping.
  16. Enjoy. Dig into your warm, flavorful cheesy beef wraps and enjoy every bite!

Notes

  • You can swap flour tortillas for whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas for a different texture or dietary need.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, adding extra spice if you like heat or reducing salt for a lower sodium option.
  • For added veggies, consider adding sautéed peppers or onions to the beef mixture.
  • Leftover wraps can be refrigerated and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
