Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz each)
Filling
- 2 packages cream cheese (8 oz each), softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar (for topping)
Optional
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (for extra sweetness)
- Fresh fruit, jam, or chocolate chips for filling variations
Instructions
- Prepare Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Form Bottom Crust: Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the baking dish, making sure to pinch the seams together to create a solid crust base for the cheesecake filling.
- Make Cream Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, ¾ cup granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- Assemble Filling Layer: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pressed crescent dough layer in the baking dish, ensuring a smooth and uniform layer.
- Add Top Layer of Dough: Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully lay it over the cream cheese filling. Pinch all the seams together to seal the layers and contain the filling during baking.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with ground cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Brush this mixture generously over the top crescent dough layer to enhance flavor and browning.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the rolls are puffed nicely.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool for 15–20 minutes to set before slicing. Serve either warm or chilled as desired.
Notes
- You can add 1–2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup to the cream cheese filling or drizzle on top after baking for extra sweetness.
- For variety, try adding fresh fruit, jam, or chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture before baking.
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature to make it easier to blend smoothly.
- If baking at high altitude, baking time may vary slightly, so keep an eye on the golden color.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
