Description

Delight in this scrumptious Blueberry Monkey Bread, featuring tender biscuit dough pieces coated in cinnamon sugar and layered with bursts of fresh blueberries, all baked to golden perfection and drizzled with a sweet glaze for an irresistible breakfast or dessert treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough (16.3 oz each)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

Optional Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan generously with butter or nonstick spray to prevent sticking during baking.
  2. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon to create the cinnamon-sugar coating.
  3. Cut and Coat Dough Pieces: Cut each biscuit from the refrigerated cans into quarters. Roll each piece thoroughly in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  4. Layer Biscuit and Blueberries: Place half of the coated biscuit pieces into the bottom of the greased bundt pan in an even layer. Sprinkle half of the blueberries evenly over the biscuit layer. Repeat this process with the remaining biscuit pieces and blueberries to build layers.
  5. Prepare Butter Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted unsalted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Pour Butter Mixture Over Dough: Evenly pour the butter and brown sugar mixture over the layered biscuit dough and blueberries in the bundt pan.
  7. Bake: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Invert: Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Carefully invert the monkey bread onto a serving plate to reveal the layered treat.
  9. Optional Glaze: If desired, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over the warm monkey bread before serving.

Notes

  • Frozen blueberries can be used directly without thawing for convenience.
  • Add lemon zest to the glaze to enhance freshness and flavor.
  • This monkey bread is best enjoyed warm but can be reheated in the oven or microwave for leftovers.
