Ingredients
Scale
For the Shrimp Topping:
- 1/2 pound raw shrimp (peeled, deveined, and finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
For Assembly:
- 4 slices white bread (crusts removed)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the shrimp topping: In a bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, mayonnaise, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, white pepper, and sugar. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Assemble the toasts: Spread the shrimp mixture evenly over each slice of bread, pressing gently so it adheres. Brush the crustless edges of the bread with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if using. Cut each slice in half diagonally to form triangles and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the shrimp topping is cooked through and the edges of the bread are golden and crispy.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro before serving.
Notes
- This recipe works great as an appetizer or party snack.
- For added flavor, mix in a touch of sriracha or chili paste to the shrimp mixture.
